Elon Musk may be the most prominent person in Silicon Valley, but he’s also one of its most controversial. The Tesla CEO has long been accused of shady business practices and self-aggrandizing behavior — and his latest Twitter meltdown is only going to make those accusations louder.

A Curated Spectacle

The latest Elon Musk debacle was not quite up to the standards of his carefully crafted public persona as a chill bro who only wants to help humanity kick its carbon habit and make space travel great again.

That is, it was not quite up to those standards unless you’ve been following Twitter closely over the past year or so.

In 2020, Musk was asked by journalist Nick Bilton of Vanity Fair to comment on his erratic and crazy year. Musk commented back:

“Vanity Fair sucks.”

I mean, “erratic and crazy year” is kind of a low blow, Bilton. What were you expecting? Musk is not one to play patsy with the media.
